Janet and April met in the 1990s while Janet was teaching at Mountain View High School and April was teaching voice and directing the Women’s Choral Ensemble at Clark College. They became colleagues in the fall of 2004 when Janet was hired as the Vocal Jazz director at the college. Their friendship and professional relationship grew as they planned shared concerts and performance tours with their groups. Urged by students, former students, parents of their students, and members of the community, they founded the Clark College Chorale in the fall of 2007. Reprise was born out of their friendship, their mutual appreciation and respect for their complementary skills and strengths, and their shared love of choral music.
